Founder, Barry Rome Mediation | Founding Partner, Barry Rome & Scott

​Stephen Barry brings more than three decades of civil litigation experience to his work as a mediator. As a trial lawyer, he has handled complex civil matters in Louisiana and Texas and has argued before the Louisiana Supreme Court and state and federal appellate courts. His practice has included personal injury and casualty claims, insurance matters, property disputes, transportation matters, and other significant civil litigation.

Stephen's perspective as a neutral is also informed by service as Judge Pro Tempore by appointment of the Louisiana Supreme Court, his prior role as Deputy City Attorney for the City of New Orleans, and his experience teaching at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. His undergraduate training in mechanical engineering adds a practical analytical background that is particularly useful in technically complex disputes.

He has completed mediation training through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law. His approach to mediation combines careful case analysis with practical judgment and an appreciation for the human dynamics that often influence whether a dispute can be resolved.
