At Barry Rome Mediation, Stephen Barry and Curt Rome bring decades of civil litigation experience to the mediation process. Throughout their careers, they have represented clients and interests from different sides of disputes, giving them an understanding not only of how cases are litigated, but how they are evaluated from competing perspectives.
Their experience spans personal injury and casualty matters, property disputes, business and commercial litigation, insurance and coverage issues, professional liability, transportation, products liability, and other complex civil matters.
Breadth of experience that Stephen and Curt posses matters. Effective mediation requires legal knowledge and case evaluation, but it also requires judgment, preparation, credibility, patience, and an ability to recognize what may actually be preventing a case from moving toward resolution.

The alternatives that Mediation provides to litigation are vast and allows opposing parties to resolve disputes efficiently. Coming together in mediation to decide and control the outcome which can avoid the significant costs of litigation and the time that a party will likely never get back. We can also tell you that as experienced litigators, we have seen many cases where we have offered settlements that have been rejected that go to litigation and end up with very similar outcomes that we have proposed, yet you have likely spent tens of thousands more in litigation.
MEDIATION
The firm's effectiveness at mediation stems from our ability to see the issues from both sides of the case. We recognize the collaborative process where we insert ourselves as true neutral third parties to assist in reaching resolutions that make sense to both sides and are mutually acceptable resolutions. We facilitate communication as a key component of what we do to understand and identify issues the parties are facing. Simply put, we help the parties find common ground. As mediation is a voluntary option between parties that is confidential, faster, and less formal alternative to litigation, we strive to make it easy and fair. Our goal in providing a resolution many times helps both entities see clearly and can help maintain relationships that can otherwise be lost in a prolonged court battle.
